Amaraaba (Welcome)

We improve the incomes of rural women through the establishment of Shea butter processing centers for training and creating networks.

What's Our Story?

Asheba Company Ltd is a privately-owned medium-scale agribusiness registered in 2013 as a sole proprietorship at the Registrar General’s Department but has now become a limited liability company through the foresight and vision of the founder and Chief Executive Officer – Madam Ayisha Fuseini. The company is involved in the processing of shea nut into shea butter and Shea butter based cosmetics including Body Cream, Hair Cream, Baby Pomade and Black Soap for the local, national, and international markets.

The motivation to establish Asheba arose from Ayisha’s deep-seated desire to help the women in her rural community whose mainstay was processing Shea butter at the bottom of the supply chain, add value by processing refined shea butter and using it to produce Shea-based cosmetics. The Company which commenced operations with just 2 employees six years ago in a small processing centre at Sorugu, Tamale, in the Sagnerigu District of the Northern Region, today has the capacity to process 20 tons of Shea butter per month and offers employment to a total of 51 persons, an overwhelming majority of who are women, in both permanent and temporary positions.

Asheba Company Ltd, through the dynamic leadership of its ambitious founder and a team of energetic and enthusiastic employees, has been recognized as one of the fastest growing shea butter processing firms in Northern Ghana. The company has achieved a significant level of progress and success over a short period of its existence. Asheba was one of only seven businesses out of 200 applicants selected to participate in fledge 11 in Barcelona, Spain for 10 intense weeks of education, mentorship, and guidance program in 2017. The ‘fledge 11’ program gave Asheba new insight in terms of business growth, new products development and product innovation. Through fledge 11, Asheba Company has advanced from packaging its products in plastic containers to packaging in aluminum branded containers. The programme also created a big platform for the CEO to pinch the business to the international market and in the event established a number of important networks in Europe. Fledge has now become a representative of Asheba Company Limited in Europe in prospecting for more businesses.

Asheba Company was also one of the 10 finalists of MTN Heroes of Change Award 2018 edition out of the total contestants’ of 1000 businesses shortlisted from all over Ghana.
